Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Thursday, December 1, 2011, 11:46 PM

Next Friday, December 9, the Bushwick Book Club of Seattle Presents the Seattle Rock Orchestra and guests performing music inspired by the Hunter S. Thompson memoir, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Featuring performances by Led to Sea, Tai Shan, The Thoughts, Bucket of Honey, Mike Votava, Andrew Nunez, Jason Dodson, Hannah Williams of Youth Rescue Mission Emily Westman and Galen Green. Should be a rad night!

The very next night, De Cajon Project will be playing a benefit show at San Fernando Peruvian restaurant in Seattle. We are bringing in guest artist Miguel Ballumbrosio from Peru and it is going be a fun evening. DJ Cesar will be closing the evening out with some cumbia. Come out!

Things to come--I have just been asked to do a tour with my favorite laptopist/percussionist Filastine at the end of January. I will probably only be able to do Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, but I am really looking forward to playing with Grey again. His music is amazing. I am also hoping to play with the Seattle Rock Orchestra next month when they accompany local soul singer Allen Stone at the Neptune. Happy Holidays!

Well I Guess I'll Join Another Band

I have done a couple of gigs with the eccentric Bone Poets Orchestra and they have been a blast! The music is interesting and fun and the folks involved in the group are SUPER TALENTED. Their cellist is leaving so I will be joining the group for the indefinite future. YAY!!! MORE MUSIC!!!

Other than that, it has been a quiet summer for music. I'm gearing up to head back to school in a few weeks. Something new for me this year is that I am starting and advanced after-school choir at Washington Middle School in Central District. I am super excited to be teaching choir again.

Kelli's Starlight Wishes Wrapping Up Debut Album!!
Tuesday, March 22, 2011, 05:22 PM
It has been a long time since I posted, and it is not because I didn't have anything interesting to say!! The most notable musical experience I had recently was playing at the Paramount Theater with Filastine at a sold-out show opening for Bass Nectar . Besides that and some other random gigs, most of my energy has been put towards finishing up overdubs and mixing of Kelli’s Starlight Wishes’ debut record. We recorded with Scott Colburn over the summer, and have more recently been mixing with Jeffrey McNulty, the engineer at the Vera Project . We have taken a short break from playing live shows while we try out a new violinist, but should resume playing sometime this spring. I just got finished two full days of recording with Kelli’s Starlight Wishes with Scott Colburn in Ballard. It was an intense two days, but a ton of fun. We will be going back into the studio within the next few weeks to finish recording strings and vocals, and get started mixing.

Here are some upcoming dates:

Wednesday, July 28 with De Cajon Project at Andina Restaurant in Portland. This is in celebration of Peruvian Independence Day.

Friday, July 30
with Brett Joseph in his country project, Don’t Call Us Charlatans. I will be playing cello and singing.

Saturday, July 31 with the Bone Poets Orchestra at the Feastival of St Crispy at the Frog Ranch in Auburn Washington.
